Aaron LaMarr Burleson
Aaron LaMarr Burleson is an actor, comedian, writer, director, and producer based in Los Angeles. Most recently, Aaron was Senior Producer at The Daily Show with Trevor Noah where he wrote and produced the NAACP Image Award Winning podcast, Beyond the Scenes, hosted by Roy Wood Jr. as well as the Webby Award Winning Jordan Klepper Fingers the Conspiracy and the Hold Up podcast hosted by Dulce Sloan and Josh Johnson. Aaron was a 2019 Sundance Episodic Makers Lab Fellow for his pilot, Don't Try This at Home, and as the former head of content for Issa Rae's digital platform, The Peak, he wrote and directed shorts that accumulated millions of views. He has also worked on series including Nat Geo’s The Hot Zone, Netflix’s Astronomy Club, and has a previous life as a community organizer in South L.A. Sikander Nasim Iqbal, originally from Vallejo, CA, has established himself as a prominent activist and community organizer, dedicating his life to advocating for social justice and community empowerment. He holds a B.A. in Psychology and Political Science from UCLA, where his activism journey began. During his time at UCLA, Sikander was instrumental in campaigns to enhance campus diversity and co-founded the Annual Bunchy Carter and John Huggins Commemoration in 2008, an event honoring the legacy of two influential Black Panther leaders.
With over a decade of experience in labor organizing and community development, Sikander has made significant contributions to various social justice initiatives. For six years, he spearheaded projects in restorative justice, youth leadership development, and civic engagement at Youth Uprising in Deep East Oakland. His work has had a profound impact on the lives of many young people, providing them with the tools and support needed to become leaders and change-makers in their communities.
Since 2019, Sikander has served as the Deputy Director of the Urban Peace Movement in Oakland, California. In this role, he focuses on healing, youth leadership, and organizing programs, as well as overseeing organizational operations. His dedication to fostering a sense of community and promoting peace and justice has been a driving force behind the success of the Urban Peace Movement.
